Residents of the Willowbrook community are banding together in what they know will be a long fight against the community's developer KB Homes.

Homeowners are facing severe water intrusion in their homes, as well as mold, as a result of what appears to be faulty construction plans, residents said. KB Homes, they said, has been largely unresponsive and has offered only band-aid fixes to individual homeowners, although the problems at the condominium complex are widespread.

About 50 residents gathered Wednesday night at the community's pool area to share their concerns with Sen. Mike Bennett, and also solicit his feedback on how to correct the problems. A group of about 50 families from the community are lobbying KB to buy back their homes.

Bennett said the scenario was unlikely, but he would do whatever he could to help rectify the situation.

"You all have to be together (on this issue)," Bennett told residents. "You've got to speak as one voice. You can't let anyone cu your deal for you."
