Weston Pointe home sells for $910,000

Elena Benedict-Smith, of Sarasota, sold her home at Weston Pointe on the Bay Isles peninsula for $910,000 to Katherine and Warren Coopersmith.

The transaction was the largest of the 13 realty sales on the keys for the recording week of Aug. 10 through Aug. 14.

The 15-year-old home at 608 Weston Pointe Court has three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, a swimming pool and 2,721 square feet of air-conditioned living area. The residence last sold for $465,000 in March 1994.

Inn on the Beach
The week’s second largest conveyance was the sale of Unit 2605 in Building 2 at the 221-unit Inn on the Beach resort development on the Gulf side of the Longboat Key Club. Christopher Schmidt, from Bridgeville, Pa., paid $790,000 for the 1,380-square-foot condo that was constructed in 1982 at 210 Sands Point Road.

The seller was Joseph Cremer, of Indianapolis.

Longboat Shores
Sandra and George Ceshker, 3380 Gulf of Mexico Drive, sold their home on Buttonwood Bayou at 3370 Gulf of Mexico Drive to Eileen and Adam Smith, of West Hills, N.Y., for $740,000. The four-bedroom, three-bath home was constructed in 1991 and has 3,552 square feet of living area.

The Ceshkers paid $690,000 for the home in January.

Sea Gate Club
At the 15-story, 90-unit Sea Gate Club tower, 2425 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Acela Linares, of Naperville, Ill., purchased Unit 15-E from Melvyn and Delphine O’Dowd, of Clarkston, Mich., for $610,000.

The two-bedroom, two-bath condo was built in 1973 and has 1,470 square feet of living area. The O’Dowds paid $325,000 for the condo in February 1999.

Seaplace I
Richard Ross and his wife, Deborah Dietz, of Sarasota, sold their Unit G1-210-C and parking space L.C.E. P-80 at Seaplace I to Gwen and David Mitchell, of Pittsburgh, for $490,000.

Bayview Estates
Barbara and Vincent Moschetta purchased their north-Key home at 539 Bayview Drive in the Bayview Estates portion of the Sleepy Lagoon subdivision for $423,000 from Jeanine Sowder, of Sarasota.

The three-bedroom, three-bath home was originally constructed in 1971 and later updated in 1978. It has 1,844 square feet of living area.

Privateer North
Anne Shackman and Sue Millward as co-trustees of the Thama Friedman Funnel Trust, of Omaha, Neb., sold Unit 404 in the 12-story, 58-unit Privateer North, 1050 Longboat Club Road, to Abbie and Gary Gross, trustees of the Gross Family Trust, of Oregon City, Ore., for $350,000.

The two-bedroom, two-bath condominium was constructed in 1974 and contains 1,409 square feet of living space.

Country Club Shores
Toni Ellingham bought her home at 501 Outrigger Lane in Unit III of the 420-home Country Club Shores from JP Morgan Chase Bank, National Association of Jacksonville, for $330,000.

The two-bedroom, two-bath canal-front home was one of the original homes constructed in 1973 with 2,137 square feet of living area.

St. Judes Apartments
Pamela and John Buff, 762 St. Judes Drive N., sold their nearby condominium on Lot 9 at 611 St. Judes Drive to Jo Ann and Secundido Sifuentes, of Los Angeles, for $315,000. The three-bedroom, two-bath condo was built in 2007 with 2,607 square feet of living space.

The apartment last sold for $485,000 in December 2008.

Longboat Beachcomber
Elisabeth and Kevin Ruscitti, from Ridgefield, Conn., purchased Unit 601 at the 40-unit Longboat Beachcomber, 2721 Gulf of Mexico Drive, from Linda Johnson, of Palm Harbor, for $275,000. The one-bedroom, one-bath condo was built in 1970 and has 675 square feet of living area.

Longboat Harbour
John Richard Cox, of Cleve, England, sold his Unit 303 in Building E of the 300-unit Longboat Harbour to Karen Guagliano-MacIntosh and her husband, Ian MacIntosh, of Ancaster, Ontario, for $260,000. The condo last sold for $395,000 in September 2003.

The two-bedroom, two-bath apartment was built in 1969 and has 928 square feet of air-conditioned living space.

Bird Key
At the 511-lot Bird Key there was one transaction. Anne Mitchell, of Sarasota, sold her home at 573 Bird Key Drive for $526,000 to Lisa and Stephen Knoop, from Shaker Heights, Ohio. The two-bedroom, two-bath home has 1,766 square feet of living area and was among the first houses constructed in 1961 after Arvida Corp. opened the enlarged key for development.

Mitchell bought the house for $436,500 in August 2002.

Lido Beach
In an intrafamily transaction, Gloria Moore, of Meredith, N.H., bought out trustee Meredith Lynn’s interest in Unit 309 at Gulf Beach Resort Motel on Lido Beach for $180,000. Lynn, who is from Needham, Mass., and Moore are trusts for the estate of Joseph Moore.

65 sales in five weeks
Real-estate sales recordings for Longboat, St. Armands, Lido and Bird keys the past five weeks, July 13 through Aug. 14, have totaled 65, or an average of 13 per week. Of the 65 transactions, 12 topped $1 million or more.
