Art Center Sarasota presents an event to introduce local visual artist Wojtek Sawa’s “The Wall Speaks Project” at  6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2.

The entire project features testimonials of Polish men and women speaking about their experience during World War II through an interactive exhibit and installation featuring film screenings and large-scale photographs. Though the subjects sharing their stories are adults, they were children when they experienced the war — it shares their reality as children and teenagers.

This event will introduce the project by way of a few film screenings and a concert by Katy Carr who was nominated last year for the London Music award.

Sawa first heard of Katy Carr when someone posted a link to one of her music videos on “The Wall Speaks” Facebook page. Her music centers around stories about Polish people during World War II.

“She’s treating it in a very modern way — she’s looking for the same things I am,” he says.

Tickets are $15. Call 365-2032 or visit artsarasota.org for more information.
