WEEKEND BEST BET:The Block That Roxx

The Block That Roxx is being held all day today to celebrate the Siesta Key Crystal Classic master sandsculpting competition. The event is on Ocean Boulevard in Siesta Village, with festivities at Siesta Key Oyster Bar, Daiquiri Deck Raw Bar and Gilligan’s Island Bar.

A master sand sculpture demonstration beginns at noon next to Siesta Key Oyster Bar, and drink specials beginning at 8 p.m. with souvenir cups and T-shirt giveaways. Master sand sculptors from the Crystal Classic will be pitted against each other in a fast-paced competition that will be held at 8 p.m. at Lelu’s next to Gilligan’s.
