WEEKEND BEST BET: Woodland Spring Fling

Woodland, The Community Church will offer an afternoon of family fun at its Spring Fling event beginning at 4 p.m., May 16, at the church, 9607 S.R. 70 E.

The family-style cookout will feature a variety of events, including The Great American Hamburger Cook Off, a two-mile race to raise money for Haiti, relay races and carnival-style games including a dunk tank and jumpers for the kids.

The Run for Haiti will begin at 5:30 p.m. The cost for the race is $15. Included in the cost is a T-shirt and prizes for first place. Registration forms are available at the church.
