WEEKEND BEST BET: Sister Keys Cleanup

Help keep the Keys beautiful by volunteering.

The Sister Keys cleanup will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, beginning at Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pub, 760 Broadway.

Volunteers will be taken by boat to the mangrove islands to remove trash and debris. Sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, gloves, glasses and water shoes are recommended. After the cleanup, all who helped will receive free lunch at Mar Vista.

Kayaks and boats are welcome; those who don’t have a boat can sign on as crewmembers.
