One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. But don’t forget about the most important fish of all: the Mote fish.

This year’s World Ocean Day at Mote Marine Laboratory, 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, in the aquarium courtyard and will feature a Dr. Seuss theme. Visitors can enjoy crafts, collages, face-painting and games, along with entertainment by the Lazy Fairy Improv Troupe.

Meet up with Mote mascots Gilly the Shark and Shelley the Sea Turtle, along with Chick-Fil-A’s favorite cow. Guests can also watch Brian Wigelsworth, of Sand Lubber Sandvertising Co. create a 4-foot sand sculpture of the World Ocean Day logo using six tons of sand.

The event will also feature information from local environmental groups.

Admission is free with an aquarium ticket or Mote membership. For information, call 388-4441.
