WEEKEND BEST BET: Cannons open house and fishing clinic

Professional fishing guides and a National Weather Service senior meteorologist will be on hand to offer their advice on fishing expeditions during Cannons Marina’s annual spring open house and fishing clinic Saturday, March 27, at Cannons Marina, 6040 Gulf of Mexico Drive. The event is free and open to the public.

The day’s activities include:
11 to 11:45 a.m. — “Ask your Boat and Motor Service Questions,” by Angela Pluff, of Cannons Marina
Noon to 1:30 p.m. — Local fishing guide Capt. Scott Moore and National Weather Service Meteorologist Rick Davis will discuss “Weather and the Catch of the Day, Reading Fishing Patterns for Fishing and Safety.”
2 to 3 p.m. — Capt. Ray Markham will discuss “Fakin’ It … Fishin with Artificial Lures.”
3 to 3:30 p.m. — Benny Parrish, of Cannons Marina, will talk about the pros and cons of using ethanol fuel in “Ethanol Fuel Revealed.”
