'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'

Sandy Davisson directs this classic C.S. Lewis story, which follows Aslan lion, his struggle with the White Witch and the adventures of the four children who wander into an old wardrobe to discover the world of Narnia.

 

Drive-In Movie Night: 'Spaceballs'

Every second Thursday of the month, JDub's hosts a drive-in style movie night in its beer garden. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a screening of "Spaceballs."Dashing Dingo Pizza Co., Create Bakery and Gifts and Baltimore Snowball Factory will be in the taproom.

Brew Thru SRQ Half Pint Tour

Take a trolley tour through Sarasota, stopping to learn — and sample beers — along the way. Brew Thru SRQ stops at Mr. Beerys, JDub's Brewing Co. and Calusa Brewery. Tickets include a pint of beer at each of the three stops, one beer on the trolley, brewery tours and unlimited water. Trolley departs at 6:30 p.m. 

 

SATURDAY, SEPT. 10

Taste of Downtown Food and Wine Festival

Chefs from some of Sarasota's most popular downtown restaurants will prepare special dishes for the third annual Taste of Downtown Food and Wine Festival, which benefits the Sarasota Youth Opera program.

 

Red Stripe Reggae Summer Concerts with Jah Movement

Busted Brunch

Busted Chef presents its annual craft-beer brunch, serving up classics with a twist, such as chicken-and-waffle skewers, biscuits and gravy and moo shu turkey tacos, paired with craft beers. Clever Cup Coffee Shop will also be on site. This Sunday features a 20% discount for all first responders with ID. 

 

HD at the Opera House: Shakespeare's 'Merchant of Venice'

Brian Wilson: 'Pet Sounds'

Wouldn't it be nice to hear one of the Beach Boys' most iconic albums performed live in its entirety? Fans of the revolutionary album are in luck. Wilson will stop in Sarasota to perform the album as part of his international tour to celebrate the record's 50th anniversary. Wilson will play the record, along with other fan favorites. 

 

MONDAY, SEPT. 12

Tapas and Taps

This monthly culinary event invites local chefs and brewers to team up to experiment with flavors and pairings. Enjoy three tapas courses from Chef David Sarmiento of O'bricks Irish Pub and Martini Bar, each paired with a different Darwin Brewing Co. beer. Receive unlimited pours of that night's selected taps during of the event. 

 

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 14

Dea and Saint, Godsnack and SamStorm

Moxie Productions continues its monthly live original music showcase with Dea and Saint, a St. Petersburg band that combines elements of hip-hop, soul, hardcore and punk; Godsnack, a local solo analog synth act created by Greg Ferris; and local band SamStorm.
