It’s a party full of laughs as comedians Bobby Collins, Ken Sons, Tim Wilkins, Tim Moffett and Valarie Storm pay tribute to comedian and club owner Les McCurdy on his 60th birthday. Proceeds from the night, which includes an open bar, dinner and roast, will benefit the Sertoma Club of Greater Sarasota, which helps children in need improve their speech and hearing capabilities.

The Sarasota Opera opens up its fall opera season and the final year of its historic Verdi Cycle with Puccini’s “La bohème.” Performed locally in 2006 and 2011, the world’s most popular ballet returns to Sarasota with an all-new ensemble, including Jessica Rose Cambio as Mimì, Angela Mortellaro as Musetta, Martín Nusspaumer as Rodolfo and Craig Irvin as Marcello.
