Manatee Lost Lagoon’s plans for a water park at Tom Bennett Park became available to the public yesterday afternoon, after the entity tried to have most of its proposal redacted.

Public viewing was supposed to occur July 1, however the county received a redaction request just before end-of-business June 30. Assistant County Attorney Robert Eschenfelder agreed to hold the opening off until Tuesday to give Manatee Lost Lagoon time for legal action. None was taken.

Manatee Lost Lagoon said the information included “trade secrets,” however the county attorney’s office disagreed.

Eschenfelder said Manatee Lost Lagoon’s original proposal was never identified as a trade secret and the current proposal was not submitted with any designations as such.
