Sarasota County Government reports that a water main break has affected services to about 240 units in La Estancia Apartments on Coronado Drive and 78 homes on Crooked Creek Drive.

Sarasota County Utilities is currently repairing the water main break. While crews work on repairs, precautionary boil water advisories have been issued to residents in the affected area. Florida law requires advisories to residents affected by pressure losses in water mains.

All tap water intended for drinking, cooking, washing utensils, making ice, brushing teeth and first aid should be brought to a boil for one minute. Bottled water can be used as an alternative.

Residents of the area will be notified by an automated telephone call when the boil water advisory has ended.
