A Palm-Aire man called police Sunday afternoon as two juveniles attempted to break in to his home.

A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report states that around 12:40 p.m., Aug. 14, a homeowner in the 5300 block of Creekside Trail noticed a bronze Ford Crown Victoria-type car parked in front of his home. The driver waited in the running vehicle, while the two juvenile passengers approached his home and began knocking on his door. When the victim did not answer, the suspects went to the rear of his home and used screwdrivers to pry through the locked rear lanai door.

Each suspect then began prying at one of the rear sliding-glass doors, the report states.

They saw the victim watching them from inside the house and fled back to the car. The victim had contacted 911 and read off the tag as the vehicle left.

Several addresses were check and K-9 Franklin located the vehicle in the 5500 block of NW First Avenue Drive, the report states. A detective responded to assist with photo packs of the suspects, and the victim was unable to make identification from the photo packs. The detective followed up with the suspect vehicle, the report states.
