Want to join the Youth Opera?

Placement classes for singers who plan to join the Sarasota Youth Opera will be held Aug. 26 through Aug. 28. All students interested in participating must attend the first session Wednesday, Aug. 26. Prospective members will meet Music Director Lance Inouye and participate in warm-ups, open rehearsal, backstage tours and be treated to a pizza party. A parent meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m.

Members will also have the opportunity to audition for 42 singing and 12 non-singing children’s roles in Sarasota Opera’s Winter Opera Festival. To sign up, call 366-8450, Ext. 221.
