Walking for a cause

Despite a sudden morning rain shower, residents of the Leopard Creek neighborhood in the Lakewood Ranch Country Club laced up their walking shoes March 23 to raise money for the Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch’s Books for Kids literacy initiative. The rain did alter the walk-a-thon’s route, but participants walked the second part of their route, ending at the residents’ center, near The Players Avenue gatehouse.

Participants raised more than $550 for the cause.
