With less than a month until Election Day, Rhana Bazzini, left, has decided she’s had enough with current campaign financing. On Monday morning, the 81-year-old resident embarked on a two-month, 330-mile walk from her Sarasota home to Tallahassee to promote a constitutional amendment for campaign finance reform. Friends and supporters came out for her 8:30 start time to walk with her for as far as they could.

Bazzini was inspired by the 3,200-mile walk Doris “Granny D” Haddock made from 1999 to 2000 to promote the same cause.

Even after the ballots have been counted Nov. 4, Bazzini will still be walking. She will walk 10 miles every day and stop after the first 5 miles for a lunch break. Supporters can follow her journey and where she will be making stops at ingrannydfootsteps.org.
