Water pressure at residences and businesses on the western side of the city of Sarasota could remain low until Saturday, after a contractor working on Vue Sarasota Bay ruptured a 16-inch water main Tuesday.

The incident will affect properties in the nearby Golden Gate Point, Bird Key, St. Armands Key and Lido Key, according to a city news release. All city water customers will still have safe drinking water, though the flow may be slower in those areas.

City officials expect the contractor to finish repairs on the water main this weekend.

The Vue is an 18-story development that will feature 275 hotel rooms and 144 residential units at the intersection of Gulf Stream Avenue and North Tamiami Trail.
