Two top turtles head to Mote camp

Longboat Key Turtle Watch awarded scholarships to Anna Maria Elementary School students Grace Garza and Maggie Carter for a week of summer camp at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium.

To date, Turtle Watch has sent 15 children to summer camp. (No telling how many future Turtle Watchers are among them.) Each year, Turtle Watch volunteer Lucinda Hathaway also presents winners with copies of her books, “Takashi’s Voyage” and “’Round the World: Takashi Sails Home.”
