TWISSS: This Week Is Sweet, Salty -- and a Stress-Buster

Behold, the Salted Caramel Cream Puff at Morton’s Gourmet Market.

It was there in the case calling to me on an especially stressful day---sticky-sweet with gooey caramel and sea salt dancing on top. Oh, the swell of hope that it was filled with something more than whipped cream. Could it be the custard I so adore and needed at that very moment?

It was then that I rushed the counter, demanding full access or at least one grand piece---and yes, as I cut into this mound of sugar and salt, through the caramel goodness, the Bavarian cream lathered the plastic fork I was holding. And there, right there, my stress level lowered and my bathroom scale slapped me later that night.
