Since it first opened, I have been a HUGE fan of Lotsa Lobster on the South Trail. While other new seafood vendors have also cropped up, no one beats the freshness and consistency of their lobster flown straight from Logan International Airport to SRQ.

And the steamer clams---I am talking monsters, whole bellies packing big flavor with just a bit of sand.

Lotsa Lobster is not a sit-down place; you buy fresh steamers and take them home to cook them in a small amount of water or beer with some chopped onions. When the clams open, it is as if they are singing, "Go for it---dip me in the broth and plop me in drawn butter."

These steamers are the real deal and well worth a drive, even if you live in Lakewood Ranch. Order ahead, and trust me---this summer is going to be filled with good eatin’ clams from the shores of New England.
