Trolley schedule remains same

The Longboat Key’s trolley route in both Manatee and Sarasota counties hasn’t changed.

Town Manager Bruce St. Denis told the Town Commission this week that both counties aren’t planning on making the change from half-hour pick-ups to hour pick-ups until March or April.

There is a 45-day period required to advertise (printed ads, signs at stops, word from drivers or notices on buses) a change in the trolley schedule.

The planned conversion this spring is to two buses, one from Sarasota County and one from Manatee County, and the 60-minute headways.
