APRIL FOOLS — Can I build that?

That’s the question the town gets every day, but now there’s an app for that.

The town unveiled the iPoc, a new iPhone/iPad app to help owners sift through the challenges they’ll face should they choose to redevelop their properties.

The app will ring in approval if the redevelopment project is expected to generate five or fewer complaints during the public comments section of a Longboat Key Town Commission meeting; sound a warning alarm if it will likely require three or more four-hour public hearings; and deliver three low-wattage shocks if it will land you in court.

Type the project in the field that says “I want to” and search:

Examples:
I want to … iPoc response
Replace a doorknob handle ...  Ring of approval
Build a new grocery store ... Warning
Spend $400 million to redevelop a resort ... Shock therapy
