The Longboat Key Town Commission will host two joint meetings with the Manatee County Commission Tuesday, Nov. 30 to discuss issues with the trolley service and Longboat Pass.

At 9 a.m. Tuesday, both commissions will discuss an issue with the Manatee County portion of the Longboat Key trolley system. The Manatee commission has agreed to fund $200,000 of the $300,000 needed to keep that portion of the trolley operational in 2011.

At 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, both commissions will review and discuss issues with Longboat Pass and why it’s causing the south end of Anna Maria Island and the north end of Longboat Key to erode so quickly. The town’s beach engineer, Boca Raton-based Coastal Planning & Engineering, will make a presentation.

Both meetings will be held in the Manatee Room of the Manatee County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
