Longboat Key town employees will likely have an extra stocking stuffer this holiday season: a one-time, $1,000 payment for all full-time town employees, with part-time staffers receiving a pro-rated amount, during December’s payroll. The one-time payment will cost the town approximately $175,000 and will not affect base salaries.

Town Manager David Bullock presented the idea to the Longboat Key Town Commission at the end of its Nov. 17 special meeting.

Commissioner Phill Younger made a motion to move forward with Bullock’s suggestion, which the commission unanimously approved.
