Tortoise Estates home sells for $1.4 million

A home in Tortoise Estates tops all real-estate transactions from May 23 to May 27. Michelle and Timothy Lea sold their home at 1201 Tree Bay Lane to Kenneth and Marina Sommers, of Sarasota, for $1.45 million. Built in 1990, it has three bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, a pool and 5,518 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $2 million in 2006.

Sarasota Bay Club LLC sold the Unit 111 condominium at 1301 Tamiami Trail to Norman and Diane Halpern, of Sarasota, for $825,000. Built in 2000, it has three bedrooms, two baths and 2,186 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $545,900 in 2000.

Sarasota Bay Club LLC sold the Unit 826 condominium at 1299 Tamiami Trial to D. Robert and Inge Gould, of Sarasota, for $675,000. Built in 2003, it has two bedrooms, two baths and 1,524 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $536,000 in 2003.

Sarasota Bay Club LLC sold the Unit 1004 condominium at 1301 Tamiami Trial to Barbara Blumfield, of Sarasota, for $625,000. Built in 2000, it has two bedrooms, two baths and 1,424 square feet of living area.

It previously sold for $453,000 in 2000.

Richard and Phyllis Arno, of Sarasota, sold their Unit 1404 condominium at 888 Blvd. of the Arts to Alfred and Cristina Thieme, of Falls Church, Va., for $450,000. Built in 1982, it has two bedrooms, two baths and 1,729 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $225,000 in 1996.

Robert and Marie Sherman, of Sarasota, sold their home at 2119 Lusitania Drive to David Vondra and Kristine Zamastil, of Sarasota, for $320,000. Built in 1957, it has three bedrooms, three baths, a pool and 1,885 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $615,000 in 2005.

Robert and Florence Lohr sold their home at 2134 Mietaw Drive to Ethan and Adriana Weisman, of Bethesda, Md., for $280,000. Built in 1925, it has two bedrooms, one bath and 950 square feet of living area.

Sydney Blair, trustee, and Luis Garcia, of Suches, Ga., sold the home at 1755 Cunliff Lane to Norma Funk, of Sarasota, for $250,000. Built in 1943, it has two bedrooms, one bath and 1,052 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $70,000 in 1987.

Robert and Carol Scherer, of Sarasota, sold their home at 1867 Riviera Circle to David Ivey Jr. and Trisha Johnson-Ivey, of Sarasota, for $275,000. Built in 1973, it has five bedrooms, three baths, a pool and 2,728 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $155,000 in 1988.

Kathryn Price, of Sarasota, sold her home at 3715 Kingston Blvd. to Agustin Bernal and Susan Drake, of Hartford, Conn., for $273,000. Built in 1986, it has four bedrooms, three baths, a pool and 2,489 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $380,000 in 2004.

Carolyn Picket, trustee, sold the Unit 113 condominium at 835 S. Osprey Ave. to Dieter Havlicek, trustee, for $267,000. Built in 1985, it has two bedrooms, two baths and 1,320 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $103,600 in 1997.

Marcie McGuire sold the Unit 112 condominium at 835 S. Osprey Ave. to Monique Joannette, of Sarasota, for $243,000. Built in 1985, it has two bedrooms, two baths and 1,260 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $171,500 in 2001.

Todd Fenton, of Farmington Hills, Mich., sold his Unit 407 condominium at 825 S. Osprey Ave. to Rudolf and Rose Bartels, of Prior Lake, Minn., for $200,000. Built in 1985, it has two bedrooms, two baths and 1,260 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $385,000 in 2006.

J. Thomas Nay, of Sarasota, sold his home at 3750 La Paloma Ave. to Charles and Beate Langsdorf, of San Jose, Calif., for $280,000. Built in 1962, it has three bedrooms, two baths, a pool and 2,246 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $201,700 in 1998.
