Tennis club ladies ditch their makeup for the day

Lady tennis players at the Longboat Key Club joined Makeup Free Mondays, a movement standing for much more than leaving off the eye shadow. The idea to focus on the inner beauty of women through a foundation-free face was created by Alexis Wolfer, in response to the focus many beauty magazines place on unrealistic body ideals, Wolfer wrote on her website, www.thebeautybean.com. Wolfer currently lives in Manhattan, N.Y., however, she recently recruited her mother, Longboater Carol Wolfer, and her mother’s tennis friends for her latest portrait. The ladies, tennis rackets in hand, smiled for the camera with makeup-free mugs.
