A 16-year-old girl reported an attempted abduction in the area of Beneva and Clark roads.

The girl said she got off a SCAT bus at about 3:15 p.m. yesterday and began walking in the direction of Osage Terrace and Brooklyn Avenue.

An older-model car reportedly approached her. The girl said it was small and had a scratched black finish and rusty tire rims.

A man got out of the car and grabbed her arm. She kicked him and bit his arm and he let her go. The teen ran to a nearby friend’s house and called the sheriff’s office.

The suspect is described as a white man between 20 and 40 years old, with thick black hair, hazel eyes, muscular build, clean shaven face, acne and a tattoo on the inside of his right wrist.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 861-4900 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 366-TIPS (8477).
