Two Sarasota nonprofits received donations from SunTrust Bank this week.

SunTrust's Mike Lonas, Chris Tenaglia, Ryan Kern and Max Hannum on April 20 presented Senior Friendship Centers President and CEO Bob Carter with a $3,000 check, which will go to support the centers’ services and activities.

“This check is presented by the SunTrust Bank Foundation as we grow our community outreach towards cutting edge organizations,” Kern said.

Senior Friendship Centers is a nonprofit network of centers in Southwest Florida with services that meet the needs of people 50 and older, and extend into the community with volunteer opportunities for all ages.

In addition, on Tuesday, April 19, SunTrust’s Michael Hamilton presented a $5,000 check to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota County, represented by President and CEO Mack Reid. The money will contribute to the club’s “Saving Lives Giving Society,” which supports its annual operating budget.

The donation was matched by an anonymous gift.
