Striping phase of FDOT project begins next week

The Florida Department of Transportation will begin applying permanent striping to the roadway of S.R. 789 next week as part of the road’s ongoing improvement projects.

Construction could begin as early as Monday, Nov. 1, and will stretch from the Longboat Pass Bridge north to Cortez Road. Temporary lane closures and nighttime work will take place between 7:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Weather permitting, the project phase is expected to last three weeks.
