Steff’s Stuff owner Stephanie Claussen got her start in the antique business at age 11, working alongside her mother at antique fairs and malls. Then, for 27 years, she owned an antique shop, Butterscotch Cottage, in Venice, with her mother and grandmother before opening Steff’s Stuff in Whitney Beach Plaza two-and-one-half years ago.

For both Claussen and her customers, entering Steff’s Stuff is a similar experience:

“It’s sort of like a trip down memory lane,” she says.

At Steff’s Stuff, Claussen carries vintage clothing and purses, jewelry ranging from gold to costume pieces, photographs, glass pieces, art and more. She has a wide selection of just about any type of antiques with the exception of furniture.

Many pieces at Steff’s Stuff are Florida themed. She has an entire case that contains water-related jewelry, and she also carries circus memorabilia. One item you might not find in another store: peacock feathers. For Claussen, a longtime Village resident, they’re just one of many Florida collectibles.
