Update: Room Feelings has closed.

Whatever your dream space — glass floors, a bedside swimming pool or a children’s room complete with racecar beds and a racetrack — Andreas and Brigitte Porwol will plan and design the project from the floor to the roof.

The couple, originally from Germany, has been designing residential and commercial spaces internationally for the last 25 years. They relocated in June to Sarasota to open Room Feelings, a firm that specializes in innovative room design.

“We have customers who need ideas for colors, those who want ideas for the entire house and customers who aren’t sure what they want,” said co-owner and designer Brigitte Porwol. “We make it as easy as possible for them.”

With respect to their clients’ social, physical and psychological wants and needs, the Porwols draw up blueprints and create 3D pictures on the computer, testing out various designs to create the perfect look and atmosphere for each individual.

“We built a bedroom for twin boys who liked racecars,” Porwol said. “The dream of the two twins was to have a room like it was on a racetrack. The children were both disabled, and it was clear that they would never drive a car. It was a special moment for them when it was complete. Their parents wanted them to have a good childhood, and we helped do that.”
