When you step into Pure Blends Performance Nutrition, you won’t find a typical menu that lists a variety of smoothie flavors on the wall.

Instead, you’ll see a three-step selection process based on purpose, mealtime and flavor. Each component plays a critical role in Pure Blend’s motto of making “smoothies with a purpose.”

With more than 20 years of personal training experience combined, owners Michael Davis and Lissett Pacheco are using their intimate knowledge of nutrition and how it affects the body to make custom smoothies for their customers.

Rather than offering standard mixes, the husband-and-wife team builds smoothies specifically targeted for each customer, whether he is looking to lose weight or gain weight or to use the drink as a post-workout boost or as a light snack.

“They tell us what their objective is and we find a way to accommodate that,” Davis said.

They even will take time to help customers understand how to better meet their fitness goals through nutrition.

“This is all set up for the clients to learn what they need,” Pacheco said.

Davis agreed.

“We love teaching people,” he said. “Being in this business is like the greatest job in the world. You get to help people all day.”

Pure Blends also sells protein powders, carbohydrates and other nutritional products.
