Store Around the Corner: Le Tennique

Comfortable, beachy elegance is the way that Le Tennique boutique manager Molly Klauber describes her personal style, but it’s also a perfect description for the vibrant colors and soft fabrics that fill the boutique at the Colony Beach & Tennis Resort.

“I like clothes to be easy, appealing and a little bit different,” says Klauber of her vision for Le Tennique.

The former general manager of Libby’s Café + Bar has a background in the restaurant business, but when the boutique at her family’s resort needed a new manager she jumped head-first into retail.

"This was a unique opportunity that just fell into my lap," says Klauber. "I'm a restaurant girl, but the other part of me has always been interested in fashion."

Klauber became manager of Le Tennique in mid-March when the boutique re-opened after being closed for several months.

Le Tennique carries swimsuits, athletic attire and tennis gear for men, women and children. The store also boasts a women's collection of everything from casual attire to high-end labels.

“I’m trying to appeal to a different type of clientele,” says Klauber. “We are at a resort though, so we make sure that we have everything our guests could need. Whether you’ve forgotten your swimsuit or you need a need a dressy outfit for dinner, we can help you out.”

Le Tennique isn’t just for resort guests. The boutique's extensive women's collection, which includes brands such as Rachel Pally, T-Bags and Splendid, make it a veritable shopping destination.

Many pieces are also one of a kind, since Klauber sometimes decides to carry just one of a certain outfit so that her clients can have something unique that no one else in the area will be wearing.

“I want our clients to have a relaxing, enjoyable experience when they come here,” says Klauber. "I love helping people find that one, unique piece that they love."
