The city of Sarasota is closing South Shade Avenue between South Pelican Drive and Novus Street beginning Monday, June 25. The road is expected to reopen Monday, July 16. Maintenance crews will be working on railroad and sidewalk improvements during this time. During the closure, motorists should follow the posted detour signs.
