Soccer showcase lands in Ranch

Thousands of soccer players, coaches and referees from across the country will gather together for the annual U.S. Soccer Development Academy Spring Showcase this weekend at the Sarasota Polo Club.
 
The Development Academy Spring Showcase begins today with 218 games scheduled throughout the weekend. Dozens of U-15 and 16 and U 17-18 academy clubs from across the country, including IMG Academies in Bradenton, are expected to participate in this year’s event.
 
Also participating in this year’s showcase will be the U-17 and U-20 U.S. Men’s National Teams who will compete in a number of exhibition matches throughout the weekend, including a U-20 intra squad scrimmage May 24 and a U-20 international scrimmage against Costa Rica at 4 p.m., May 26.
 
The Development Academy Spring Showcase is designed to provide players, coaches and referees with the latest U.S. soccer resources through educational seminars, feedback and coaching. In addition, an assortment of National Team scouts representing every level of the Men’s National Team program will be on hand to evaluate players.
