SLL wins district crowns

The Sarasota National 9/10 Little League All-Stars went 3-1 to capture the Florida District 16 championship this past week.

Sarasota National outscored its opponents 45-20 to advance to the sectional tournament, which begins July 13, at Twin Lakes Park.

Across the field, the Sarasota American 10/11 All-Stars captured a Florida District 16 championship of their own, defeating Sarasota National 10-1.

Sarasota American, which also begins its sectional tournament July 13, outscored its opponents 43-14 over the course of the three-game tournament.

The Sarasota American 11/12 All-Stars defeated North Port 16-12 to capture the District 16 championship July 10. Sarasota American defeated North Port 5-1 in their previous meeting.

The Sarasota Junior All-Stars opened their district tournament July 9 and will play through July 13.
