Sleepy Lagoon home sells for $1.8 million

Sharon Catallo, of Wetumpka, Ala., sold her home at 6417 Gulfside Road in the north-Key Sleepy Lagoon subdivision to Sunset 55 LLC, a Florida limited-liability company registered to Jim Allen, also of Wetumpka, for $1.8 million. Built in 1972 and remodeled in 1984, the home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and 2,553 square feet of living space. The property last sold for $205,000 in March 1981.

The sale was the largest of the five sales recorded at the Sarasota and Manatee county courthouses for the week of July 19 through July 23, on Longboat, Lido, St. Armands and Bird keys. The week’s sales included three Longboat Key homes, two of which are located in Manatee County, and one Longboat Key boat slip, along with the sale of a Bird Key home. The Sleepy Lagoon transaction was the sole sale that exceeded $1 million.

Longboat Harbour
Michael and Karen Koblenz, of Sarasota, sold Unit 105 in Building C at the 300-unit Longboat Harbour, located in the 4400 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive. The one-bedroom, one-bath condominium was built in 1969 and has 747 square feet of air-conditioned space. The unit last sold for $188,000 in June 2003.

Longboat Key Moorings Marina
George Lowry and Susan Mastroianni-Lowry, of Laguna Hills, Calif., sold Unit L-02 at the 277-slip Longboat Key Moorings Marina, located behind the Harbourside gates of the Longboat Key Club and Resort, 2800 Harbourside Drive, to John and Melody Lohse, of Reno, Nev., for $165,000.

The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort
Gregory and Lynda Thomson, of Ontario, Canada, sold Unit 146-N at the 232-unit Colony Beach & Tennis Resort, 1620 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to SCAZ LLC, a Florida limited-liability company with a Grass Valley, Calif., post office address, for $45,000. The 705-square-foot unit was built in 1973. It last sold for $85,000 in February 1981.

Bird Key
Ronald Saba, of Sarasota, sold his home at 420 Partridge Circle on Bird Key to Matthew Price for $700,000. Built in 1971, the 3,549-square-foot home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a swimming pool. It last sold for $275,000 in January 1999.
