Siesta Key Association members will soon be able to manage their membership information and pay dues on the organization’s website, announced President Catherine Luckner at a meeting yesterday.

Current and potential SKA members can pay with credit cards and will be notified immediately of their membership, Luckner explained. The Oct. 4 meeting at St. Boniface Episcopal Church showcased a taste of what members experience at monthly meetings and their civic accomplishments.

Sarasota County Commissioner Nora Patterson explained some of the amendments Siesta residents would see on the November ballot, and their impact on homeowners and local governments. County Parks and Recreation General Manager Carolyn Brown and Beaches Manager George Tatge discussed highlights from the department’s 2012 fiscal year, and expectations for the next.

Siesta Key Village Association President Russell Matthes and Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kevin Cooper addressed the audience about Sandfest 2012 and the Crystal Classic Master Sand Sculpting Competition, which recently launched a new website at thecrystalclassic.org.

Lucker said the online membership feature would likely appear on the site, online at siestakeyassociation.com, in three weeks.
