Siesta associations to meet this week

The Siesta Key Village Association will hold its monthly meeting tomorrow at 8:30 a.m., and the Siesta Key Association will meet Thursday at 4 p.m.

Village Association President Russell Matthes will move to spend $3,500 on holiday pole lights for next year's "Light up the Village" celebration and parade. Cheryl Gaddie and Wendell Jacobson will discuss the results of the 2012 event.

The Siesta Key Association agenda includes discussions of the Siesta Key Lost Pet Hotline, 941-749-LOOK or 941-749-5665.

Also on the agenda is a presentation from Sarasota County Fire-Rescue and Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board member Bob Luckner, husband of SKA President Catherine Luckner, on the new emergency operations center, the 800 megahertz emergency management system, and emergency medical needs.

Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce Chair Mark Smith will present a budget recommendation for the Siesta public beach improvement project at the Siesta Key Association meeting. The island architect recently submitted an alternative budget to County commissioners that pared approved construction costs 21%.
