ODA Lacrosse
The Out-of-Door Academy boys and girls lacrosse teams both defeated Fort Myers Canterbury School April 9.

Jeremy Herrin scored six goals to lead the Thunder to a 12-5 victory. Christian Nold scored five goals. Aidan Dowdy recorded 18 saves.

On the girls side, Kimmy Comito scored six goals and had four assists to power ODA to a 15-12 victory. Taylor Albano added four goals. Abby Lagasse had one goal and two assists. Tess Siciliano, Lexi Myers and Lexi Murphy each added a goal. Abby Bannar recorded 12 saves.

ODA closed out its season with an 18-7 victory against Berkeley Prep April 10.

Comito scored five goals and added three assists to lead the way for the Lady Thunder. Adelaide Mahler had five goals, and Siciliano added four goals. Albano had two goals and two assists. Myers had a goal, and Lagasse had an assist. Bannar had 10 saves.


+ Founders Club to offer summer membership
The Founders Club is now offering $750 summer memberships, which run from May through October.

Memberships include use of all of the club’s facilities, including the club’s golf and social programs, the 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course and Golf Hall and The Founders Club’s 24,000-square-foot clubhouse, among other amenities. Members also will enjoy complimentary exercise classes, yoga, Pilates and junior golf clinics.

Summer membership is limited to the first 50 applicants.

+ Orioles minor league to hold extended training
Baltimore Orioles minor league players will be in action during an extended spring training, which will continue through June.

Admission is free and open to the public. Games will be held on Field 4, at the Ed Smith Stadium complex. Gates open 30 minutes prior to the first pitch. Free parking is available in the east lot.
Dates include:

• April 17, 19, 22, 24, 25, 29 and 30

• May 3, 6, 7, 9, 12, 15, 17, 20, 22, 23, 27, 28 and 31

• June 2, 4, and 6

All games start at 1 p.m. except Saturday games, which will begin at 10 a.m.

+ Play Golf Sarasota to hold tournament
Play Golf Sarasota will hold its 14th annual Council for Exceptional Children Golf Tournament May 3, at

TPC Prestancia, 4409 Tournament Players Club Drive, Sarasota.
The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start. Cost for the four-person scramble is $85 per player. Sponsorships ranging from $200 to $2,500 also are available.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the CEC Camp Scholarship Fund, which allows children with disabilities to participate in summer camp activities.

+ Sarasota is right up alley of professional bowlers
The Professional Bowlers Association 50 Regional Tour will return to Sarasota Lanes April 16 through April 18 after a 30-year absence.

Fans will have the opportunity to bowl with the pros and watch some of the world’s top bowlers compete. Participating in the 60-bowler field will be PBA Player of the Year Walter Ray Williams Jr. and national tour champions Tom Baker and Brian Voss. Local bowler Gil Sliker also is scheduled to compete.

A-Squad Bowl will be held at noon April 17. Bracket match play will begin at 9 a.m. April 18.
