ODA Swimming 
The Out-of-Door Academy girls swim team continued its undefeated season with a 156-134 victory over Port Charlotte Sept. 30.

Joie Eckhard won the 200- and 500-yard freestyles while Kate Patrice won the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.

Imola Csendes captured the 100 freestyle. She then teamed up with Eckhard, Patrice and Reece Whatmore to win the 200 freestyle relay. Csendes, Eckhard, Patrice and Amber Bond won the 400 freestyle relay.

On the boys side, ODA fell to Port Charlotte 165-127, but several swimmers set new school records.
Zach Szmania set a new school record in the 200 individual medley, winning the event in 2 minutes, 23.75 seconds. He also broke the school record in the 100 breaststroke with a winning time of 1:13.78.

Szmania then joined Charles Hayes, Matthew Leonard and Laszlo Tengerdy on the winning 200 medley relay team, which set a new school record with a time of 1:59.09.

Sarsen Whatmore broke his own school record in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:29.12. Hayes won the 100 backstroke.

+ Lady Cougars volleyball team tames Lady Thunder
The Cardinal Mooney volleyball team defeated district rival The Out-of-Door Academy 25-11, 25-19, 29-31, 25-14 Oct. 1.

Maddie McNally had 12 kills and eight digs to lead the way for the Lady Cougars. Keri McMahon added eight kills and 13 digs. Sarah Tonitis and Brooke Picchi had six kills each. Annie Shaw finished with 32 assists and 11 digs.

Natalie Buffett powered ODA with 11 kills and two aces. Taylor Albano and Reanna Gregory added seven kills each.

+ Riverview falls to Venice
The Riverview High volleyball team fell to host Venice 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 in non-district action Oct. 1.
It was the Lady Rams’ fourth straight loss. Kenzie Walker powered Riverview with 13 kills and 12 digs. Ashley Allmer had 20 assists. Sarah Neill added five kills. Mikaela Braune finished with five perfect passes and three assists.

+ Sarasota Christian volleyball notches district win
The Sarasota Christian volleyball team defeated Southwest Florida Christian 29-27, 19-25, 23-25, 25-21, 18-16 in district action Oct. 2.

With the win, the Lady Blazers improved to 14-2 on the season.

Heidi Miller powered Sarasota Christian with 20 kills and two aces. Kenzie Lantz finished with 32 assists, two aces and one block. Brianna Eddy added 13 kills, one ace and two blocks.

+ Blazers boys golf team swings past the Thunder, Cougars
The Sarasota Christian boys golf team shot a combined 149 to top The Out-of-Door Academy and Cardinal Mooney in a tri-match Oct. 1.

ODA shot 161 followed by Cardinal Mooney (168).

Zong Fan Li shot 32 to lead the way for the Blazers. Alan Jiang and Tony Jiang each added a 38. Yuan Leo Li shot 41, followed by Jason Zaho (44) and Holden Schrag (52).

Max Coutioultsos shot 38 to lead the way for the Thunder, while Jake LaMore powered the Cougars with a 38.
