+ Braden River baseball to hold fundraiser
The Braden River High baseball team will hold a four-person scramble golf tournament fundraiser Oct. 13, at the River Club Golf Course.

Registration for the tournament will begin at 12 p.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. A buffet lunch, trophies and prizes will follow. Proceeds raised during the event will go toward baseball activities and the purchase of baseball-related equipment not purchased by the school’s athletic budget.

+ Mustangs finish third at Outback Invitational
The Lakewood Ranch High boys golf team finished third at the Outback Invitational Sept. 23, in Oldsmar.

The Mustangs shot a combined 297, finishing five shots behind champion Windermere Prep (292) and one shot behind West Orange (296).

Luke Miller and Danny Walker both shot one-over-par 73s to share medalist honors. Ramsey Touchberry shot 75 followed by Barry McDonnell and Spence Schultz who both shot 76.

+ Coastline Volleyball launches youth league
Coastline Volleyball recently started a fall youth volleyball league for girls ages 12 to 14.

The league, which includes game situations and skill training, will be held from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. Wednesdays and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sundays, at VolleyFit Sports Academy, 2204 58th Ave. E., Bradenton.

+ River Wilderness to host Sugar Shootout
River Wilderness Golf and Country Club in Parrish will host its first Sugar Shootout Golf Tournament Oct. 12, to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The four-person scramble tournament will feature a shotgun start, dinner and awards. Participants will be able to compete in several contests, including longest drive, closest to the pin and inside the circle.
