Sheriff's association to host hazard seminar

Manatee County families wishing to learn their community's role in preparing for a major incident should plan to attend an All Hazards Homeland Security Initiative training seminar Oct. 24.

The one-day, eight-hour seminar will be conducted by the National Sheriff's Association from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Oct. 24 at the Moose Lodge, 310 44th Ave. E., Bradenton.

Training topics include awareness and comprehensive emergency management basics, preparation and prevention, response and community partnerships, recovery and continuing the community partnerships building process.

The training is being funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
