About 80 special needs children ages 3 to 17 headed Nov. 6 to Siesta Key Beach for the Hang 10 for Autism event, which was organized by the Center for Autism Research and Education. Participants were matched with a surfer and volunteer before heading to the water to learn to surf, skim board or paddle board.
