From sea to shining Key

A flag that once flew at sea by the USS Enterprise (CVN 65) last August off Cape Hatteras moved from the sea to the Key. Former town commissioner and retired Navy veteran Peter O’Connor was presented the flag by the ship’s navigator. He was given the honor of hoisting the flag himself, and it will be flown at the Longboat Key Veterans Memorial Flagpole located at the corner of Bay Isles Road and Gulf of Mexico Drive.
