While the world celebrated the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, one Sarasota woman was tidying up her home and inadvertently ran into some history.

A copy of the Dallas Morning News with the headline “Man Walks on Moon” (“Moonday” July 21, 1969) was atop a stack of newspapers Judy Armitage found in a long-ignored cedar chest. And there was more. She also found around 30 newspapers from The Detroit Free Press and Chicago Tribune from other historic dates, including the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
