Sarasota resident shot within city limits

The Sarasota Police Department is investigating the death of Christian R. Robinson. Robinson, 27, was a Sarasota resident with a home address of 2312 N. Osprey Avenue.

Robinson’s death occurred at approximately 2 a.m. this morning at 1438 21st Street within city limits. It is reported that Robinson entered the home uninvited; Robinson was waving a gun at the three occupants of the home and telling them to get out of the house.

One of the occupants of the home, Frank Lee Green, 22, advised police that he pulled a handgun from his pocket and shot Robinson. Green stated that he had a concealed weapons permit and showed it to police when they arrived.

Sarasota Police Department’s Criminalistics unit and detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to the home. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with additional information regarding this death is asked to contact Detective Todd at 954-7091.
