The Sarasota Police Department is attempting to identify four individuals suspected of stealing coins valued as high as $100,000 on Saturday.

The incident occurred at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, the site of a coin show this weekend. Surveillance video from Saturday shows four subjects entering the auditorium, one of the individuals removing several gold coins from a table and all four subjects leaving. Several minutes later, two of the individuals return and remove more items from the same table before leaving again.

Additional footage from Friday shows three of the individuals checking out locations in the lobby of the auditorium and taking notes. The coins are valued between $50,000 and $100,000, according to a Sarasota Police Department release.

The SPD encouraged anyone with information regarding the theft to contact Detective Kenton Montegna at 954-7092. Anonymous tips can be left through Crime Stoppers by calling 366-8477, or by visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
