Sarasota police investigate body found in ditch

Two men found the body of an unidentified male on the 1700 block of East Avenue Wednesday.

The Sarasota Police Department is investigating the death of an unnamed man, whose body was found in a ditch near the intersection of East Avenue and 17th Street Wednesday.

Two men found the body at roughly 7 p.m., and called police, according to a news release. Officers have not found any witnesses, and it is unknown whether foul play was involved with the man’s death.

More in formation will be available following an autopsy.
