OBSERVER GAME OF THE WEEK

Sept. 4: Booker vs. Sarasota

Booker will host crosstown rival Sarasota in its home opener this week. The Tornadoes were the lone Sarasota area team to win their season opener last week, having defeated Riverview 28-27 in overtime.

Sarasota fell on the road to Cape Coral 28-21 in its season opener.

Booker sophomore Arthur Brantley made his debut under center last week, while Sarasota freshman Bryan Gagg threw a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns.

Booker won last year’s contest 18-9 and should have the momentum heading into this week against a young Sarasota squad. The Sailors will need to keep mistakes to a minimum against a Tornadoes defense that forced four fumbles and an interception last week.
